Questions About Dental Implants?
Below is a list of some of the questions we get asked most frequently from our patients. If you have a question that isn't answered below, feel free to give us a call and our team at Dental Implant Center of Florida will be happy to assist you.
Depending on your coverage, some dental insurance company pays a portion of dental implant treatment and some do not. If you want to know exactly how much your insurance will cover, we can submit a treatment plan and wait a few weeks for an answer. If you want to get the treatment started right away, we can always process the insurance paperwork after the treatment so that you will be reimbursed directly from the insurance company.
After a dental implant has been placed, we need to wait for the jaw bone to "lock" into the implant. This integration time varies depending on where in the jaw bone implant has been placed, age of a patient, and any preexisiting medical condition. From start to finish on a normal, healthy patient, it can be as short as 6 weeks! Besides, for an esthetic area of mouth, we will place a temporary crown or bridge immediately so at no time you will be without teeth that will affect your smile.
Most dental implant procedure is done with local anesthetic, such as lidocaine. If you ever had a filling placed with a shot, then a dental implant procedure is not much different. Most patients are overly anxious about the procedure and after the treatment is finished, they are surprised to find out how simple and quick the treatment was. Most common comment is: "That was it?"
